Architectural Post and Panel Signs

 

Apost and panel aluminum architectural sign classic signs nc 220x165rchitectural Signage often refers to the very utilitarian style of signs that are traditionally used around modern business parks, colleges and hospitals etc. Very low maintainance, functional, easy to change the copy etc.

Not always the most attractive, post and panel signs are very functional.

Sometimes simplicity is  best to help accentuate other things. Or perhaps when function is more important than form, then post and panel signs are perfect.

They don't have to be made out of aluminum either If your budget doesn't stretch to aluminum post and panel signs then PVC can work very well and be less of an investment.

magnolia place 1 pvc sign with acrylic letters classic signs nc 220x165The Magnolia post and panel sign shown here is manufactured from PVC posts and panel but instead of vinyl letters we used routed custom cut acrylic letters so that it ties in with the rest of the renovated building which is quite old.

Some of the signage had to be made to replace existing grandfathered signs. so we used this method to transcend between old hand made and functional, directional & informational post and panel signs.

The top two signs are both aluminum post and panel with vinyl graphics.

The next two are PVC post and panel both with appliqued acrylic letters, one has easily removable tenant panels.

The final sign is also PVC, it was the grandfathered sign we needed to duplicate from when this building was the Razooks store in Pinehurst.

Uwharrie Point Country Club Main Entrance

This PVC Monument Sign is approx 8ft high by 14ft. wide and was originally made from Redwood. After approx 25 years it had rotted. The board of the residents association were very keen to keep the original appearance exactly the same as the original but they wanted it to be from a material that wouldn't rot.  We had access to  the original architects drawings, so we set about converting the plans into a computer file engineered to be made from PVC and aluminum but to look exactly like the original. Every piece of coving and molding was made in house, and then assembled into three pieces which were transported to the site where it was assembled. The whole monument sign was painted with six coats of a high quality Benjamin Moore latex paint ( it lasts longer on PVC than paints costing over $100 .00/gall more. Then apart from the center panel all of the monument was painted once more by brush and as it was drying the brushes were dragged carefully along the length of each section creating a wood grain effect; thus removing any appearance of the sign looking plastic.
