Although there are many ways of mounting a urethane panel to a brick wall, following are the most common that are used by us:

We are trying to be helpful with these support notes. However we can not be held responsible for any damage either to people or property unless the sign is installed by our own staff.

    1. If the sign is to be permanent and a flush fitting is required, on small and medium size signs a combination of foam double stick tape and silicone adhesive may be used. The silicone is applied in globs of about 1.5" diameter at intervals of 12" to 18". The double sided foam tape is applied in quantities to support the sign while the silicone is curing e.g. on a 24" x 24"sign, six pieces of 1 wide tape 2" - 3" long should be sufficient. Please note: the wall must be brushed off first and all loose particles removed. It must also be completely dry. The sign is then pushed firmly against the wall so that the double sided tape makes firm contact. Care should be taken to make sure the sign is plumb.(If you are not absolutely sure that the sign will stay in place until the silicone is cured, masonry nails can be hammered into a mortar line as a temporary support to be removed later or a simple prop can be fashioned from a couple of 2x4s and wedged between the ground and the bottom of the sign.

    2. If the sign is not permanent and you do not want to see any fixing, but you want it flush to the wall, the sign and wall can be drilled.  The wall can be plugged and galvanized decking screws or small lag bolts can be used. These can either be painted the same color as the part of the sign that they penetrate or they can be sunk just below the surface and covered with a good quality exterior grade filler. This filler should be textured with an old toothbrush or stiff paintbrush if it is in a textured area, allowed to dry and then can be painted the same color as the back ground. If the sign is required to stand off the wall, a simple way is to take two treated 2x4s or 2x6s depending upon the size of the sign, cut one of the 2x4s lengthways at 45 degrees. (See drawing). The one 2x4 and half of the cut 2x4 are glued and screwed to the sign. Please note: the treated 2x4s or 2x6s must be dry if silicone or epoxy resin is to be used. If a wood glue is used it must be a waterproof adhesive approved for outdoor use. Regular wood glue will not work. It is recommended that these are fixed to the sign by screwing through the face of the sign into the wood behind rather than through the wood and into the sign. The other half of the piece cut at 45 degrees is screwed to the wall as shown in the diagram. The sign is then hooked onto the piece on the wall, brought into plumb and can be made permanent with two galvanized decking screws driven through the face of the sign and into the wood fixed to the wall
