Hiking Trail Signs | hard wearing long lasting way finding signs for trails, parks and resorts
The vast majority of Hiking Trail Signs we create are for use in rural and country settings.
Hiking trails, through mountains and walking trails through forests etc. all want to be visible to the people using the trail , or more accurately looking for the trail signs to find their way safely. So our solution needs to be a hiking trail sign that is clearly visible and yet it has to blend with its surroundings enough so as not to be an eyesore. Sandblasted hiking trail signs are a great answer; they are aesthetically pleasing to the eye, have that rustic feel so they fit in to the landscape but they can be designed to be visible and readable without having to be too large.
The only other problem we come up against is the strength and longevity of the hiking trail signs.
We want our hiking trail signs to have that wood look; but wood expands and contracts with heat and cold; the paint then cracks and moisture gets in, next the moisture expands in the sun and causes blisters which then crack and more water gets in: the downward spiral then snowballs and the hiking trail sign (which is rarely scrutinized by hiking trail sign supervisors, rots from the inside out) before you know it you have to purchase more trail signs or you leave them and the hiking trail starts to have that unkempt look of being managed by those who do not care.
We have the ideal hiking trail sign to answer that problem.
We make a master from whatever material you choose. Whether you want sandblasted redwood or any other wood even stone. We then make a mold and cast the item in a solid polyester, usually about 1.5ins thick. They can be broken with a hammer and a lot of sweat but that doesn't happen very often.
These virtually unbreakable hiking trail signs will not crack, warp or split and they will last for many many years, they just grow old gracefully.
For a more urban type hiking trail perhaps around an old historic district our cast pointing hand or similar may work. and if we don't have what you need we can always create a custom hiking trail sign for you often at no greater cost than our standard range.
